Biographical

Along with Merope (1), Electra (2), Celaeno (1), Maia, Alcyone (2), and Taygete, Sterope was one of the Pleiades, she was transformed into the Pleiades constellation with her sisters. Another tradition makes her the wife of Ares and mother of Oenomaus, and another, the wife of Hyperochus and mother of Oenomaus.
