Mr Linton

Biographical

A magistrate and member of the gentry, Mr Linton is the owner of the opulent Thrushcross Grange and is the father of Edgar and Isabella. He expresses disdain for Heathcliff and the Earnshaws' way of life when Heathcliff and Catherine are caught intruding at his house. He and his wife die in the autumn of 1780 from an infection they catch from Catherine who was convalescing at the Grange.
