Isabella Linton

Biographical

Isabella was born in late 1765 to Mr and Mrs Linton. An attractive, genteel, but spoilt and sulking woman, she is also a romantic, and becomes infatuated with Heathcliff, despite her family's disapproval. Recklessly, she elopes with him on the 13th of January 1784. In truth, Heathcliff marries her as part of his quest for vengeance. She discovers his monstrous nature and her love for him turns to fear and hatred. On the 25th of March 1784, she runs away from him, and gives birth to Linton Heathcliff in September that year. She lives with her son until her death in August 1797.
