| This cup and saucer are part of a coffee set from the tradition of Italian ceramic craft by Arte della Ceramica, Sesto Fiorentino, near Florence. Ornate in style, they feature a lustrous gold finish with raised, hand-applied floral decorations—pink and white roses framed by green leaves. The handle of the cup is elegantly curved, with detailing that complements the floral motifs. Coated in gold and adorned with matching appliqués, the set has a cohesive and richly decorative appearance. The base of the cup and centre of the saucer are accented with white ribbed ceramic, adding texture and contrast to the gleaming surface. This type of craftsmanship, especially the use of gilding and sculptural relief, was typical of mid-20th century Italian workshops, blending functionality with elaborate decoration. |
