Mir Mahmud 11th Qutb of the Nimatullahi Order (–1689) Other names: ‘Imad al-Din Mahmud al-Husayni Biographical According to one source, he was a sayyid descended from the eighth imam ‘Ali al-Rida. He left Bidar and settled in Hyderabad, building a daragh, and establishing the centre of the Nimatullahi order there. It was known as Kuh-i Mir Mahmud (the hill of Mir Mahmud). He received no patronage from the ruler there and there were even attempts to stop him from building the daragh. |
