Shah 'Ali Rida Dakani 13th Qutb of the Nimatullahi Order (1683?–1801) Biographical He was the principal architect in restoring the Nimatullahi order in Persia. His brother Muhammad contested his right to succession. Muhammad claimed that he had gone mad and had him locked away for twelve years until 'Ali Rida's son rescued him. The first reformer of the Nimatullahi order, he sent his disciple Ma'sum 'Ali Shah to Iran to restore the order there. He enjoyed good relations with the rulers of Hyderabad. The order eventually died out in the Deccan after his death. He is said to have died in 1799 rather than 1801. Place of burial: near Hyderabad |
