| Berardo
Actarino
Signore di Sclafani Biographical Signore di Sclafani Signore di Chiusa Signore di Recalsisi Berardo Sclafani held the post of secreto in the Secrezia (exchequer) of the Kingdom of Sicily, along with six other Sicilian nobles before the Sicilian Vespers. He has been identified with Berardo Actarino, signore di Sclafani, Chiusa, and Recalsisi, and a miles married to Francesca, who donated the fief of Sant’Anna to the monastery of San Nicolò del Bosco di Caccamo in 1289. He is considered the possible father of Matteo Sclafani, who is named in documents as the blood nephew of Matteo da Termini (†1310), which would make Francesca possibly the latter’s sister. Place of burial: Church of San Francesco d’Assisi in Palermo? Berardo likely belonged to the line of Giovanni Sclafani. He was possibly married to Francesca Termini, and they were the possible parents of: • Matteo (see) • Berardo/Gerardo, named in the 1333 will of his brother Matteo • Beatrice, possible daughter, married to Manfredi Chiaramonte • Eleonora, married to Filippo Monteliano |
