| Mossel was Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies from 1750 to 1761. A former VOC (Dutch East India Company) merchant, he focused on administrative reforms and strengthening the company's financial position. His tenure saw efforts to curb corruption, but resistance from entrenched interests limited his success. He also dealt with conflicts in Java and tensions with local rulers. |
