Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah

Completed in 1628, the tomb is a square, marble-faced structure set on a raised sandstone plinth within a charbagh layout, with four octagonal corner towers and façades articulated by three-arched openings screened with carved jali panels. Its construction employs full white marble masonry with extensive pietra dura inlay of semi-precious stones and an internal nine-part plan centred on a domed chamber, while the roof is formed as a flat pavilion with chhatri elements instead of a dominant central dome. It acted as a model for some of the architectural and decorative elements. of the Taj Majal.
