Muhammad Faqirullah Khan (fl. 1720–1770)
 
Muhammad Faqirullah Khan was an active painter in the Awadh region of Uttar Pradesh, India, known for his work in the Mughal tradition. He was born in Lucknow, then the capital of Awadh, and studied there under several teachers, including the renowned Ustad Mansur. Trained in the traditional Persian miniature style, he also developed a distinctive personal approach, combining Mughal and Indian techniques. He became particularly known for his portraits of rulers, nobles and courtiers, while also producing floral compositions and detailed landscapes. Muhammad Faqirullah Khan was a painter at the court of Emperor Muhammad Shah and worked in Lucknow after the sack of Delhi. He later worked at the court of Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula, where he enjoyed significant recognition for his skill and artistry.
