Henri Jannin (1816–after 1867)

A French lithographer and printer of portraits and other lithographic works such as sheet music covers and board games, little is known about the life of Henri Jannin. Born in Lyon, he became active in Paris from 1839, where he produced numerous lithographs of sovereigns, aristocrats, and other significant figures of his time. He opened his printing firm in 1839, but by 1841, he found himself in trouble with the law for printing works anonymously and producing socialist propaganda. In 1850, he was fined for these activities. By the 1860s, it appears he had ceased operating his printing business.
