Two human-animal hybrid figures (top and lower-centre); a man and a woman outside a building from which emerges another man (bas-de-page scene). he manuscript, Decretals of Gregory IX, Royal 10 E IV, is a canonical law collection issued under the authority of Pope Gregory IX and compiled for him by Raymond of Peņafort (or Penyafort), a Dominican friar and distinguished jurist. Bernard of Parma compiled the Glossa ordinaria, the standard authoritative commentary used by canon lawyers, in the margins.
