| Francesco Allegrini (1729–after 1773) | ||||||||||
| A designer and engraver, Francesco was born and active in Florence, where he primarily executed vignettes and portraits. His brothers Giuseppe and Pietro were involved in printing and publishing, and Francesco often collaborated with them. In 1762, Francesco and Giuseppe published a collection of portraits of the Medici family, with a frontispiece engraved by Francesco, entitled Cento ritratti della reale famiglia de' Medici. He also engraved fourteen portraits of Florentine poets, painters, and other notable figures for the 1741 publication Dei gran duchi di Toscana della reale casa de' Medici, protettori delle lettere e belle arti. | ||||||||||
