Maitre Cyprien Ragueneau, a pastry chef and poetry aficionado who inspired the character of Ragueneau, a pastry chef-poet, in Cyrano de Bergerac. From the 1881 French biographical work Les Caravanes de Scaramouche, by Emmanuel Gonzalès, which traces the travels of the seventeenth-century Italian actor Tiberio Fiorelli, who developed the Commedia dell'Arte character of Scaramouche, playing him in Paris theatres and at the French court in the 17th century. |
