She had had several children by Poseidon. She entertained an unnatural love for her brother Macareus, and on this account was killed by her own father; but according to others, her father threw the son she had by Macareus to the dogs, and then sent her a sword with orders to end her life, which she did. Macareus also killed himself.^[H45]
