He carried her off for himself and married her, and they were both to love each other.^[L25]
Agamemnon takes her away from Achilles, and from this point, Achilles refuses to fight any further in the Trojan War which results in the deaths of many people.^[L25]
After the death of Patroclus, Achilles returns to battle, making peace with Agamemnon, and Briseis is returned to him.^[W78]
