Woolner
(1893–1984) Biographical Companion of the Order of the Bath (UK) 1942 Military Cross, two bars (UK) 1914 Star, with clasp Despatches, thrice in WWII Despatches, twice in WWI Major-general Brevet Major Educated at Marlborough College, Woolner was commissioned into the Royal Engineers and served in the First World War from 1914, seeing action in France and Belgium, where he was wounded, and remained in service until 1919. He later served in the Second World War with distinction. He retired in 1947.
