Studied at the Paris Conservatoire, and won the premier prix for

Member of the Théâtre Favart orchestra, 1798, and Opera, 1800/01.[E6L]
Member of the imperial chapel orchestra, 1804.[E6L]
Replaced his brother's Conservatoire class in 1826.[E6L]
