Señor de Somiedo Biographical Señor de Somiedo Alvar was raised by the adelantado Pedro Suárez de Quiñones after his father, Diego, was exiled. In his will, Pedro bequeathed him the lordship of Somiedo. Another source makes Alvar Díaz the same person as Alvar Díaz, the son of Diego Fernández de Miranda (†1383). He was said to have been betrothed to a daughter of Fernán Ibáñez de Mendoza.
