Señor de Quirós (–1446) Biographical Señor de la casa Quirós <1436–46† Señor de Villoria <1436–46† Lope was in the service of King Juan II and helped recover in Asturias the lands and rights that the Quiñones and other knights had unlawfully taken from the estate belonging to Prince Enrique (Enrique IV). By order of the King, he took possession, on behalf of the Prince, of the city of Oviedo and the entire Principality of Asturias. From that time onward, Asturias retained the title of Principality as the hereditary possession of the firstborn sons of Spain. It is believed that he was killed by a fall from a horse.
