Although Juan was the successor of his uncle, he did not legally hold
the titles of 11th Marqués de Monreal and Marqués of
Santiago,
as he withdrew his application to the Ministerio de Gracia y Justicia
in 1915. His brother Miguel then had an application made in the same
year.
