After his uncle's death, Francisco took action through the Royal Chancery
of Valladolid in 1556 to claim the lordship of the House of Quirós
and the entail from other claimants, and was successful in 1562.
At the same time, he also obtained confirmation of his noble status.
Son of Gutierre Bernaldo de Quirós and Guiomar de Prado, he
was married firstly to María de Estrada, with issue:
