Frederick Orme Francis Darvall
(1846–86)

Biographical

Darvall went to Queensland at around the age of twenty and later resided in Brisbane, where he joined the Civil Service, becoming Chief Inspector of Distilleries in April 1881 and then Curator of Interstate Estates in October of that year. He was later appointed Chief Inspector of Breweries as well as Chief Inspector of Distilleries. His health began to deteriorate after a trip to New Zealand, which he undertook in the hope of recovering his well being. He returned to Sydney, where he spent his final days.
