Cholmondeley Darvall
(1883–1946)

Biographical

Darvall began his career with the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney on 21 January 1901, working across various branches in New South Wales and Queensland. In 1929, he travelled to London with his wife and children to take up duties at the Bank’s London office, where he supervised operations until 1932. After returning to Sydney later that year, he was appointed Chief Inspector and promoted to General Manager in 1933, a position he held until his retirement in 1946 owing to poor health.

Son of Anthony Darvall and Kate Wilson, he married Marion Taylor in 1916 and had issue (including Anthony Roger, *1917; Dorothea Isabel, *1919).
