He adopted Johann Victor Thierfelder (*1884, Gosaumühle bei Hallstatt)
in 1905 who received the family name and Austrian barony of Nikolics (confirmed
1905). Johann also assumed the additional surname of Obrenov, thus becoming
Johann Viktor, Freiherr Nikolics von Obrenov.
