Biographical
A biologist and zoologist in Brazil. He was deputy director of the Museu
Paulista under his father, and worked at the marine biology station in
Naples, at Vienna, and at the Natural History Museum of Paris. After his
father was dismissed as director of the Museu Paulista in 1916, he himself
resigned and then opened a small metalwork factory. From 1926 to 1927,
he worked in the parasitology laboratory of the University of São Paulo,
and from 1932 to 1937, he was a technical commissioner for fish farming.[O21]
