Biographical
Imran Khan is a former international cricketer who led Pakistan's team
to a World Cup win in 1992. Educated at Oxford, and a devout Muslim,
he began to dedicate himself to politics after his first marriage, and
founded his political party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
His party's focus was bringing justice to the people of Pakistan.
He went on a hunger strike in 2007 after being jailed for political reasons
and was afterwards charged under anti-terrorism laws during a student
demonstration in Lahore. Although his party narrowly lost in 2013,
it won by a landslide in 2018.[D28] His children by Jemima
Goldsmith are Sulaiman Isa, born 1996, and James Kasim, born 1999.[K5F]
He married his second wife, faith healer Bushra Maneka, in 2018.[D28]
