Biographical
He was ruler of all the Mauri land, with his capital firstly at Volubilis,
and later developed Iol as a second capital.[D96]
Initially, he helped Jugurtha with military aid against Marius when requested,
but after being defeated by Marius, he betrayed Jugurtha and joined the
Roman plan to capture him. It is uncertain whether he married Jugurtha's
daughter, or Jugurtha married his.[D96]
