Biographical

His family moved to South Africa and settled in Kimberley. Louis became an attorney in the Cape in 1898, and established a practice in Kimberley. He founded the legal firm Lezard, Robins and Edmeades. He represented the criminal Joseph Silver in 1900 who recently became a Jack the Ripper suspect.
