Fernando migrated to Chile in 1562 with his mother and siblings, and
alongside his military and political career, he was also a poet and
chronicler. He owned lands in Angostura and an encomienda in San Juan
de Cuyo.

Son of Francisco de Toledo and María de Toledo, he married
Jerónima de Lemos, and by her had issue:
