4th Señor Horcajada Other names: the Blind Biographical 4th Señor Horcajada 4th Señor de Bohoyo Knight of the Order of Alcántara 1601 [Spain] Antonio, who styled himself Marquess of Bohoyo, died without issue. His estates and lordships were claimed by his sister Mariana, but the Duke of Alba contested her claim, arguing that the entails required strict male succession, and that with the extinction of the male line of Don García Álvarez de Toledo, first Lord of La Horcajada, the estates were to revert to the senior line — the ducal house of Alba — as stipulated by the founder. The Duke of Alba won the case, and the lordships of La Horcajada and Bohoyo were incorporated into his house. Steward to Queen Isabel Son of Antonio Álvarez de Toledo and Jerónima Dávila, he married Jerónima de Ayala, and had no issue. |
