Alonso de Toledo
(c. 1508–) Biographical Alonso followed in his father’s footsteps, first assisting in his tax farming business before establishing himself independently. His ventures proved highly profitable, allowing him to amass considerable wealth. In the 1550s, he was appointed a municipal magistrate in Granada, a position that carried significant privileges and prestige.
