Von Sandrart's engraving depicts the large estate in Rome 40 years after construction began, it was commissioned by Pope Innocent X of the Pamphili family. It grew into one of the grandest suburban estates in Rome, with extensive gardens, fountains, and a villa designed to house the Pamphili family’s art collection and serve as a suburban residence
