Documerica was a documentary
photography project sponsored by the United States Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) from about 1972 to 1977. The purpose of the
project was to photographically record subjects of environmental
concern and everyday life across the United States. Here, a man at
the Sheepshead Bay Annual Art Show in Brooklyn enjoying the simple
pleasure of a towering sundae, pastel scoops rising above the glass
and his attention fixed wholly on the monolith. |
