A sailing ship moves through
the Kattegat as wind fills its sails and waves strike the hull, with
the island of Hjelm and the coast of Jutland visible on the horizon.
Eckersberg developed an interest in marine painting early in his
career, producing ship drawings and etchings for commercial use that
helped him study vessels at sea from different angles. |
