Gottolengo is a town in the province of Brescia, Lombardy, with
a population of approximately 5,022 residents as of 2024. It lies
at an elevation of 53 metres, near the borders of the provinces
of Cremona and Mantua. Archaeological evidence suggests human presence
in the area as early as the 3rd millennium BC, and its recorded
history dates back to the Roman period. Over the centuries, the
town developed as an agricultural centre, benefiting from its location
in the fertile Po Valley. Among its architectural landmarks is the
15th-century Carmelite complex of St. Jerome, which includes a brick
bell tower. Gottolengo's historical significance and rural setting
contribute to its character within the Lombardy region.
