Antonio Bramati (1799–1875)

Born at Vaprio, Bramati was an engraver, draughtsman and painter from a family of artists. His most notable exhibitions were at Brera in 1828, and in Milan in 1829 and 1830. His subjects included portraits, architecture and views. In 1831, he executed designs for paintings commissioned for the Cathedral of Milan. Two of his brothers, Luigi and Giuseppe, were also engravers, sometimes working in collaboration with each other, and as they all signed their works Bramati, it is difficult to distinguish their respective contributions. Antonio died in Milan.
