The obverse presents a shallow relief composition: centrally, a right-facing profile portrait identified as Winkelman, beneath which an inscription appears. Additional inscriptions are positioned above the portrait. To the left, artillery is depicted within a landscape setting; to the right, a naval vessel is shown at sea with three aircraft in flight above. The reverse is unadorned, bearing only a stamped letter 'A'.
