| This wooden figurehead takes the form of a frontal bust in parade armour with lion-headed pauldrons, gilded helmet bars and an orange sash running diagonally across the chest, and it stood at the bow of the frigate built at the Naval Shipyard in Rotterdam in 1828; the vessel first sailed under the name the Waal before later receiving the name Prins van Oranje in 1844 and carrying sixty guns. |
