In certain places,
literature is not only preserved, but built into the very shape of
daily life, becoming part of the surroundings in unexpected ways.
Here, a doorway is set into a wall constructed entirely out of
books. The weathered green doors are enclosed by shelves teeming
with volumes of every size and colour, packed together in a dense
and chaotic arrangement. Some books are tilted, others wedged
tightly, as though the entire wall has been assembled from stories
rather than bricks. The overall effect is both whimsical and
overwhelming, but amongst the disorder, there's a quiet sense of
wonder—an invitation to enter not just a room, but a world composed
of pages and possibility.
