A proposed ceremonial
balloon designed for Napoleon’s coronation in 1804 features
intertwined wreaths celebrating his military victories. Two men wave
flags atop a golden imperial eagle suspended from the rigging, and a
golden angel flies below, blowing a trumpet as a herald of victory,
proclaiming Napoleon’s fame and announcing his imperial glory and
divine sanction of his reign to the world. |
