The RMS Titanic

The RMS Titanic departs port in 1912, beginning what was intended to be a triumphant maiden voyage across the Atlantic. Its immense hull dominates the scene, cutting through the harbour waters with striking presence, while four towering funnels rise above the decks, releasing dense plumes of smoke into the sky. Crowds of passengers are visible along the railings, some gazing out at the sea, others waving to those onshore. A small boat in the foreground trails alongside, dwarfed by the scale of the liner, which was then the largest moving object ever built. The atmosphere carries a sense of anticipation and spectacle, unaware of the disaster to come just days later when the ship struck an iceberg and sank in the North Atlantic.
