Blue Linen

The blue linen flower belongs to the species Linum perenne, a member of the Linaceae family native to Europe, especially alpine regions and parts of England. Blooms display a delicate, airy texture, their soft petals catching light with a subtle sheen. Also known as perennial flax or blue flax, it is valued for its ornamental beauty and ecological role, while the related species Linum usitatissimum—cultivated flax—has historically provided fibres for textile production, giving rise to the name linen for the fabric.
