| Also known as Jamaica pepper, pepper, myrtle pepper, pimenta, Turkish Yenibahar, newspice, allspice comes from the dried berries of a Caribbean tree and carries a warm mix of flavours that recall clove, nutmeg and cinnamon in one. It was once so valued in Europe that ships crossed the Atlantic specifically to secure it for winter dishes and preserved meats. |
