| A whimsical folk-style scene alluding to abundance, indulgence, and pleasure, with a monkey, a traditional emblem of folly or unruly desire, riding a pig long associated with appetite and sensual indulgence, its plumpness signalling abundance, satisfaction, and prosperity. The pig is richly decorated, while the smartly dressed monkey balances playfully on its back holding a star-tipped wand in one hand and an apple in the other. Around them appear fruit and flowers, common symbols of fertility, sweetness, and earthly enjoyment. This comical allegory shows love not as lofty, refined, or spiritual, but as generous, mischievous, overflowing, and a little grotesque, above all celebratory: a world where desire, pleasure, and abundance spill over. |
