Polar bears (Ursus maritimus) are found exclusively in the Arctic, including regions such as Svalbard, Jan Mayen, and parts of Canada, Greenland, Norway, Russia, and Alask. These apex predators are adapted to extreme cold, with thick fat layers and dense fur that provide insulation, and large forepaws for swimming. Contrary to popular belief, they do not inhabit Antarctica, as the continent lacks the necessary sea ice ecosystems and presents ecological challenges.
