| Skuas and penguins share a tense, opportunistic relationship, with skuas scavenging carcasses and preying on eggs or unattended chicks at the edges of penguin colonies. Penguins respond with vigilance and collective defence, their sheer numbers and aggression often limiting how boldly skuas can operate. |
