Long-tailed macaques, native to Southeast Asia’s forests and coastal regions, are highly adaptable primates often seen near temples, villages, and mangroves. They are one of the few primates known to wash their food, rinsing fruit or sand-covered items in water before eating. They have also been observed using stone tools in the wild, making them unexpectedly handy foragers.
