A hippopotamus gapes beneath
the surface, its mouth a pale vault lined with molars and and some
greens tossed in. A hippopotamus can open its mouth up to 150
degrees, revealing one of the strongest bite forces in the animal
kingdom—measured at over 1,800 pounds per square inch. |
