The Most Essential Equipment Photograph by Roberto Nickson, 2018 |

| Nestled within the padded confines of a rather large camera bag, typically reserved for precision-crafted lenses and humming gadgets, lies a small dog, comfortably curled up as though this is precisely where it belongs. Its paws are folded in quiet triumph, its tongue lolling out in foolish delight, as though it knows full well it has displaced tools of great import and couldn’t care less. Around it, instruments meant to aid in the capture of time and light sit patiently, outshone by this soft, ridiculous monarch of the moment. It’s as if, in the face of such unintentional charm, all the technology in the world becomes redundant—this creature alone is enough to capture the moment. |
